Raw Footage feedback

Yesterday, our group presented the first cut (raw footage to music) to the rest of class, this is helpful for us as we are now able to gain audience feedback, and what their views on our first cut is, we were told that:

  • Out of all the scenes, we have a shot where the bottom half of the main character is running down a road at night time illuminated by the light of a car, and we were told that this was a fantastic shot which needed no change done to it.
  • We were also told that our introduction which is a mid shot of the main character listening at an open door, which then zooms in to a close up of her, is very good, and needed no changing, which is interesting as this was one of our groups key topics of discussion for change, as the zoom is too shaky, but this will now be left as it is.
  • Another piece of feedback, is that the lyrics tie in well with the screen content/visuals, which is good as this was hard to achieve
  • The final piece of feedback we received was of the parents arguing scene, we were told to altar this to make it have a much grittier, angry feel to it, as the mise-en-scene of the lighting is too bright which connotes a wrong meaning, so we will change this in time for the second screening.
We also handed out a questionnaire to the class to gather feedback, the results of which we have not yet recieved back but will post results once we've had them back in.
